Biography
Peter Wikle is a tenor/bass trombonist and tuba player from Santa Ana, California. In his time in New York City, Wikle has studied with musicians including Dave Taylor, Barry Harris, Lee Konitz, and Jim McNeely. In addition to performing, Wikle is also an avid composer and arranger for small and large ensembles. He leads a brass band under the name Rat Trap Pack, which frequently performs across New York and Pennsylvania. Wikle has performed at numerous venues and festivals worldwide including the Monterey Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, and the Jazz Standard. In addition, he has recorded at the likes of Capitol Studios and Van Gelder Studios. He is heavily influenced by a wide variety of musicians including Bach, Stravinsky, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Koji Kondo and more. In 2018, Wikle graduated with his Bachelor of Music from Manhattan School of Music and his Masters of Arts from New York University in 2023. He currently resides in Santa Ana, California.
